WHAT IS QCF QUALIFICATION?
QCF is a work-based qualification, which combines academic study and part time employment.Training and assessment is conducted mainly at the workplace in a practical way.
ABOUT THE COURSE
The course consists of mandatory and optional units.
MANDATORY UNITS

- Develop strategic direction and leadership
- Lead change in an organisation
OPTIONAL UNITS
- Inform strategic decision-making
- Put a strategic business plan into action
- Establish policies and procedures
- Support the culture of an organisation
- Lead innovation within an organisation
- Plan an organisation's workforce
- Manage a budget for own area or activity of work
- Promote knowledge management across an organisation
- Outsource organisational processes
- Obtain additional finance for an organisation
- Improve organisational performance
- Manage quality systems
- Manage a programme of complementary projects
- Design and manage the business processes
To achieve the qualification, learners must achieve a total of at least 45 credits.
27 credits must be achieved by completing the mandatory units and a further 18 credits must be achieved from the optional units. To successfully complete a unit, each learner has to provide evidence satisfying all the performance and knowledge standards in that unit.

The level 7 NVQ in management is a cross-sector qualification. This means that this qualification will be taken by people who are responsible for the control of activities ad work output of other managers across a wide variety of areas, including NHS trusts, educational institutions, government departments and the private sector.
Level 7 learners can expert to be working in a management and leadership role.
ENTRY REQUIREMENT
There are not any specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification. However, learners might find it useful if they have already completed qualifications in a relevant area at level 5 or 6.
Learners have to be at least 19 years old.
PROGRESSION AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The qualification is not designed to be a progression award, however, learners completing it may go on to further study and achievement at the same and higher level in the same or related subjects. This could include taking a qualification in general or sector specific management at level 7 and above.
CREDIT TRANSFER
One of the benefits of the QCF is that learners can transfer credit from one qualification to another. Learners who have already achieved one or more of the units included in this qualification elsewhere can transfer the credit already achieved. Simply let us know which unit are being achieved by credit transfer on the Certificate Claim Form.

ACCREDITATION AND CERTIFICATIONS END DATES
All qualifications on the QCF have accreditation and certification end dates to ensure that qualifications remain current and valid. The accreditation end date is the last date was can register learners on a qualification, and the certification end date is the last date that learners can be certificated.
Learners have up to 3 years after the accreditation end date, to complete this qualification and claim their certificate (unless the certification end date passes before the end of the 3 year period). For further information please refer the information about this qualification on NCFE website.
