If you are considering to study at Eynsford College, the following information can be useful:

Your studying hours

You will study full-time for 15 hours per week at the school if you are a visa student, and can study part-time or full-time if you are a European student. In addition to class room teaching it is important that you plan for an extra time to do your home work and study on your own - this is absolutely essential for your progress

Class sizes

At Eynsford College we have small classes. We usually have classes of up-to 15 students in our English classes. Small class sizes will benefit you as you will be able to ask questions, interact with other students and get individual attention from your teacher.

Your teachers

You will have experienced and qualified teachers teaching you the subject/s you have enrolled with us to study. All our teachers are empathetic and will take your individual needs into consideration.

Your teachers will be friendly and their teaching style semi-formal or informal. Your teacher will teach you the material you will need to learn. Please, have a due respect for your teachers, concentrate and listen attentively in the class.

English classes

With us you will learn English through English. You will be taught in English and with time you will notice significant improvement in your listening and speaking skills. In our General English classes you will study English grammar and will practice writing as well.

Alternatively you could choose to join one of our Callan method classes. Callan method of teaching English is based on teaching English through speaking it. It is particularly good for the beginners and for acquiring increased confidence in speaking English.

Professional Courses

We teach various professional courses including Business Studies course. To join this course you will ideally need to have a very good command of English before you start a course. Ideally your level will be upper-intermediate or advanced, although, in some cases a good intermediate level student can be found eligible to undertake a professional qualifications course.

You will be given a time table for professional courses, typically you will study for 2 or 3 days a week for the total of 15 hours per week. You will need to ensure that you spend additional several hours a week on individual study as this will be essential. You are advised to join a public library which will give you access to a large number of books. Some recommended textbooks you may be able to borrow from our library or may be required to buy. Your teacher will advise on these.

At the end of each module you will have to sit for an exam. Your teacher will give you the necessary guidance and you will work through the past exam papers.

Cultural Diversity

You will be in a class with students from different countries and cultures. The students in your class will have about the same level of English as you. Britain is a multicultural country and cultural diversity is one of the things which makes it so special. We hope you enjoy your stay in London and learn a lot about other cultures.

Changing Classes

If you feel you have to change your class because perhaps it is not exactly your level, please, talk first to your teacher as your teacher may be able to recommend a suitable option for you. Our administration staff will also try to help.

Mobile Phones

All students are required to switch off or turn to silent their mobile phones during the class.

Attendance, lateness and absence

Attendance is compulsory for visa students. Please arrive on time for your lessons. If you are going to be late or absent, please inform your teacher giving the reason.
The minimum required attendance for international students is 80%. In the case of poor attendance, the college will send warning letters to a student concerned and if the attendance does not improve, a student can be suspended and Home Office informed.
