TRAVEL & TOURISM (Certificate)
TOURISM & BUSINESS STUDIES (Diploma, Advanced Diploma)

The course is specifically tailored to the knowledge and practical needs of those who wish to pursue a career in the fast-growing travel, tourism and hospitality industry.

Certificate in Travel and Tourism (NQF Level-3) Part 1

Course Contents:

  1. Characteristics of World Destinations
  2. Fundamentals of the Hotel & Catering Industry
  3. Numeracy & Statistics
  4. Retail Travel Operations
  5. Structure of Travel & Tourism

ICM Certificate in Travel, Tourism & Business Studies is awarded upon successful completion of the above 5 subjects.

Entry Requirements

No formal qualifications are required but applicants should demonstrate their competence in English at upper-intermediate - advanced levels (equiv. to levels B2/C1 of CEFR). It is best to have an IELTS certificate of band 6.0 or above. You may have other equivalent qualifications to prove your proficiency of English language. If you studied in English, i.e. completed a course where English was a teaching medium, this is often a sufficient proof of your English language skills (subject to approval by the College). You need to have a letter confirming that the medium of instruction was English and send this letter to us.

The minimum age for registration for this programme is 18.

  1. Three GCSEs/GCEs at grades A, B or C (or equivalents)
  2. Two ICM Single Subject passes at grades C or above

Applicants over the age of 17 who do not hold the required entrance qualification may also register for the programme providing they have had a minimum of one year’s work experience and can provide a reference from their employer (subject to approval by the College).

Subject Exemptions

Students holding relevant recognised qualifications from other professional bodies may apply for exemptions on a subject-for-subject basis.

Course Duration

Full-Time 6 Months.

Part-time available for non-visa students

 
Diploma in Tourism & Business Studies (NQF Level-4) Part 2

Course Contents:

  1. Accounting
  2. Business Management & Administration
  3. Management of Travel & Tourism Operations
  4. Tour Operations
  5. Tourism Marketing & Promotion

Entry Requirements

  1. Five GCSEs/GCEs at grades A, B or C (or equivalents)
  2. Four ICM Single Subject passes at grade C or above
  3. The ICM Certificate in Travel & Tourism

The minimum age for registration for this programme is 18.

Applicants over the age of 21 who do not meet the entry requirements may also register for the diploma level providing they have had a minimum of two years practical work experience in a tourism or hospitality related environment.

Course Duration

Full Time; 12 Months

 
Advanced Diploma in Tourism & Business Studies (NQF Level-5) Part 3

Course Contents:

  1. Economics for Business
  2. Hospitality Management
  3. Management Theory & Practice
  4. Tourism & the Environment
  5. Travel & Tourism Development

Entry Requirements

The minimum age for registration for this programme is 18.

  1. Registration for the Advanced Diploma is restricted to those who have completed the ICM Certificate and/or Diploma programmes in Tourism.
  2. Prospective students who hold recognised alternative qualifications in Tourism or Hospitality studies will be considered on their merits.
Any business studies qualification equivalent to one of the above
